Packers' Micah Parsons addresses his friendship with Myles Garrett

Micah Parsons is clearly one of the best defensive players in the world. He would be the clear-cut candidate to win Defensive Player of the Year this season and almost every other season.

The only problem? There's that guy named Myles Garrett. The Cleveland Browns star is leading the league with 18 sacks and is on pace to set a new record. Even so, there's no beef between the two.

Micah Parsons opens up on his relationship with Myles Garrett

Following the Green Bay Packers' big 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Parsons actually revealed that they're pretty cool with one another, with Garrett even sending him words of encouragement.

“Myles is somebody who's been so good to me,” Parsons said. “He reached out this morning, was like, ‘I hope you go be great.’”

That's why, when asked whether he wished that Garrett had a bad game and didn't get a sack on Sunday, Parsons took a friendly jab against the veteran.

“Nah. I don’t pray against my elders,” he said, laughing.

Parsons made a statement against Aidan Hutchinson and the Lions, finishing the win with eight pressures, four QB hits, three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

He also became the first player in NFL history to get at least 12.0 sacks in each of his first five seasons in the league.

He still has a chance to catch up with his "elder" Garrett. But even though the Browns star is three years older than Parsons, he's just 29 years old and still in his prime, so it might be a couple of years before Parsons gets past him in the DPOY race.
