After practicing most of the week for the Packers , it seems like the team will be without their anchor on the line for their match up against the Bears. Former All-Pro LT David Bakhtiari will not suit up tonight for Green Bay in a step backwards most fans didn’t expect. The Packers will be without multiple linemen for Sunday Night Football.

While Bakhtiari not being able to go today hurts, it isn’t the end of the world. The majority of what Bakhtiari has been doing this week is running through team drills. It appears, however, the Packers have prepared for this and it doesn’t come as a surprise to the team.

Coach Matt LaFleur said that Bakhtiari only began full pads recently. He has two days so far of contact, which means he still wasn’t in the plans for week two. LaFleur stated “He has gotten a lot of reps. There’s not many people who can have a schedule like that but I do believe and we do believe as an organization that he’s one of those guys.” Coach LaFleur seems optimistic about the work that Bakhtiari has put in so far.

It is important to the Packers that they slowly work their injured players back. That means it might be another couple weeks before Bakhtiari is playing. However, he has performed well enough lately that he could play against the Buccaneers in week three.

The Bears will send Dominique Robinson and Robert Quinn at a weakened line. Both players could pose a serious threat considering the Packers are banged up. Along with that, Roquan Smith, Eddie Jackson, and Jaquan Brisker all look to build off their win against San Francisco. The Bears shouldn’t be taken lightly, but even with the injuries the Packers have a strong enough team to win handily. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers will likely cruise to a victory on the play of the defense, especially.
