Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers clearly isn’t happy with the supporting cast he’s been given this year, and Packers president Mark Murphy may just be inclined to remedy the situation.
Prior to Green Bay’s 27-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, a fan asked Murphy, who was sauntering the sidelines, if he could trade for a wide receiver. Murphy’s response was to the point, “By Tuesday,” he replied.
You might not hear it but that’s me talking to Murphy. I told him plz trade for a WR. What did he say? No bullshit in his exact words he said:

“By Tuesday”. I’m not joking. Let’s see if he’s serious. pic.twitter.com/Y2XhzVYE2H
The Packers have been linked to nearly every receiver reported to be available, including Houston’s Brandin Cooks, Denver’s Jerry Jeudy, Pittsburgh’s Chase Claypool, Carolina’s D.J. Moore and Arizona’s A.J. Green.
Green Bay could use a shakeup in the wide receiver room as injuries have limited Sammy Watkins to just four games, Allen Lazard to six games, and Randall Cobb, who’s on injured reserve, to six as well.
Only two Packers receivers — Romeo Doubs and Lazard — have more than 20 receptions this season. Green Bay’s receivers rank fifth in drops (14), 27th in yards per reception (10) and 20th in receiving yards per game (234.1).
