Packers RB Aaron Jones to play in 2023 cornhole world championship

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones is a dual-threat athlete. Not only can he catch the football out of the backfield as one of the better running backs in the NFL, but he's apparently one heck of a cornhole player.

So good, in fact, that it's being reported that Jones has qualified for the upcoming cornhole world championship in South Carolina.

Over the weekend, Jones was one of the guests at a celebrity cornhole tournament in Milwaukee. The tournament was sanctioned by the American Cornhole League and Jones and his partner, professional cornhole-er Yett Irwan, beat WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Garcia and her professional partner, Eric Zocklein in the championship match.

As such, Jones is qualified to compete in the Johnsonville Superhole IV Championship in Rock Hill, SC, on Aug. 4. His team is one of eight teams that have advanced to the championship coming out of preliminary tournaments from across the country.

The Packers start training camp on Wednesday, July 26, but they do have a day off on Aug. 4, meaning that Jones should be able to compete in the cornhole event and he may even come back as a world champion.

Green Bay is hoping that Jones will help the Packers become a championship contender in the post-Aaron Rodgers era. He, alongside new quarterback Jordan Love, is one of the veteran leaders on the offense.

Jones rushed 213 times for 1,121 yards and two touchdowns in 2022 while adding 395 yards and five touchdowns as a receiver.
