Packers Rookie Minicamp: The Road To 2026 Starts Now
Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

The Green Bay Packers 2026 Rookie Minicamp kicks off today. I am over the moon that my draft crush Brandon Cisse was Gutey’s first pick in this year’s class. Here’s an aritcle I put out on Cisse back in March

Packers Fans Need To Watch CB Brandon Cisse Right Now (3.20.2026)

Gutey and company absolutely nailed this draft, and I cannot wait to get a first look at the new crop of talent reporting to 1265 Lombardi Avenue.

Packers Draft Positions Of Need

The Green Bay Packers 2026 Draft selections saw a noticeable shift in philosophy from general manager Brian Gutekunst. Long known for leaning toward a best-player available approach, Gutey instead attacked clear positional needs in this year’s draft, signaling a roster building urgency that Packers fans have been clamoring for. Including the above mentioned pick of Cisse. This class feels purpose built to complement the current core rather than develop in isolation. It’s a calculated pivot, and one that reflects both confidence in the roster’s foundation and an expectation to compete now.

Here’s a full list of all the talent coming into the building today.

Stepping Onto Hallowed Ground

Day one of Rookie Minicamp today will be all about acclimation, structure, and first impressions. The rookies will report to Lambeau Field for early for meetings, install sessions, and physical evaluations before heading over to Ray Nitschke Field field for their first walkthroughs in green and gold. They can expect a heavy emphasis on fundamentals, alignment, footwork, terminology, and a crash course in the playbook that can feel like drinking from a firehose. Position coaches will begin carving out early depth chart impressions, while the strength and conditioning staff gets baseline data.

Who knows we may even finally get a glimpse and hear from new DC Jon Gannon….

In the end, today is not about full-speed competition just yet. Today is about setting a tone and bringing the newbies into the culture of winning Packers football. Regardless of rivalry banter, everyone in the league knows how special this franchise is. Today the new class will learn about “Carrying the G”.

The Road Ahead

Rookie Minicamp is just the opening chapter in a critical offseason ramp-up. Also keep in mind these young players are going from Bowl game season to Combine Season to the Draft, and are now learning if they can stand on their own two fee in the NFL.

Next up is Organized Team Activities (OTAs) from May 26 through June 18, where the tempo rises and cohesion starts to form across units. Then the squad will have mandatory Minicamp from June 9–11 which brings the full roster together.

Then we enter the annual summer lull aka “The Dead Zone” from late June into July when players recharge before training camp. For a team with postseason ambitions, every one of these checkpoints matters, and this rookie class is stepping into a system expecting them to contribute sooner rather than later.

This is that special time of the year when the excitement and anticipation begins to build and the Lombardi Trophy feels like it could be headed back home to Titletown.
