If Matt LaFleur were hoping to create further mystery and craft some sort of strategic advantage over the Detroit Lions over who will be starting at left tackle on Sunday, one of the Packers’ top offensive linemen appears to have ruined those plans.
According to veteran offensive tackle Rasheed Walker, he has emerged as the winner of the preseason battle for the starting tackle job, and will be the one tasked with keeping quarterback Jordan Love upright this season.
Are you starting at left tackle on Sunday?
Rasheed Walker: “Yes.”

Walker winning the starting job isn’t just a testament to the veteran tackle’s reliability up front, but the latest roadblock in Jordan Morgan’s bid to become a starting caliber player along the Packers’ line, after being chosen with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Presuming Walker is in the lineup, he enters the 2025 season looking to build on a 2024 campaign in which he allowed three sacks while surrendering 35 pressures.
Right out of the chute, Walker could draw one of the biggest challenges in the NFL, keeping Aidan Hutchinson off of Love’s blindside.
