Matthew Golden has stolen the headlines and sparked optimism for the Packers’ offense, but the rookie wide receiver isn’t the only vital weapon for Green Bay in the passing game.
After finishing as Green Bay’s leading receiver last season, Jayden Reed hopes to stave off Golden and third-round rookie Savion Williams in quarterback Jordan Love’s target hierarchy this season.
However, Reed continues to work through a lingering foot injury, ahead of the season opener against the NFC North rival Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.
“Once my adrenaline’s running, I’m fine most of the time, but probably afterwards is where I feel it the most,” Reed said of his foot, via the team’s official website. “While I’m out there running during the play my adrenaline’s running pretty well so I don’t feel it as much.”
Last season, Reed caught 54 passes for a career-high 857 yards and six touchdowns, and the fact that he is making progress with his foot injury is encouraging ahead of the 2025 season kicking off.More must-reads:
