Carolina finished last in the NFL in run defense in 2024, allowing 179.8 rushing yards per game, and tied for third-worst in sacks (32). Even after adding DTs Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown III in free agency, the defensive line remains a long-term concern.

Nolen, who racked up 9.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks last season in the SEC, is a rare blend of size, athleticism, and versatility. His ability to collapse the pocket and anchor against the run fits perfectly in Ejiro Evero’s 3-4 front.
