Add Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Moore to the growing list of NFL players taking advantage of the new and somewhat controversial rule that allows wide receivers, among other players, to switch to single-digit jersey numbers beginning with the 2021 season.
Moore confirmed via social media that he is changing from No. 12 to No. 2:

As part of the amended rule, players wishing to change numbers before the upcoming season must purchase unsold jerseys that carry the old number. While that stopped Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook from reverting to his college number, Moore told Darin Gantt of the Panthers' website he feels going back to his little league number is worth the cost.
"It wasn't hard, I think it'll be a good investment in the long run," Moore explained. "I think single digits look good on me because that's what I wore my whole life.
"And plus, it's something new."
Panthers quarterback Tommy Stevens will go from No. 2 to No. 15.
