Inconsistency has been a major problematic theme for the Green Bay Packers in the 2025 NFL season. On paper, they have the talent to be considered a chief contender for the Vince Lombardi Trophy. They play like it too on the field — but not all the time. On Sunday, Green Bay fans were reminded again of the team’s topsy-turvy in the 2025 NFL season, as Jordan Love and the Packers suffered a 16-13 loss at Lambeau Field at the hands of Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers.
The Packers were widely expected to beat Carolina, especially following a statement win in Week 8 on the road against Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. But the Packers floundered in the face of Carolina.
Love, who celebrated his 27th birthday on Sunday, couldn’t get much going on offense. He passed for 273 yards without a touchdown and was intercepted once, as Carolina’s defense succeeded in slowing down Green Bay’s offense that, a week before, was humming against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Carolina surely was aware that Love turned 27 on Sunday. They even used that to troll him and the Packers after their shocking win in Green Bay.
Carolina’s social media team shared the Packers’ birthday greeting for Love on X, formerly Twitter, in a post that included a graphic showing defensive tackle Derrick Brown and running back Rico Dowdle and bearing texts that read “PARTY CRASHERS” and “HIDE YOUR QUARTERBACK.”

Of course, the 5-4 Carolina had every right to thump its chest following the win.
The Packers, on the other thand, at least are still atop the NFC North division standings with a 5-2-1 record.
