Pat McAfee Reacts to Sauce Gardner to Colts Trade

The NFL trade deadline can be a bit hit or miss each year, but 2025 has been one of the most active in recent memory. One player who nobody thought was on the trade block was New York Jets cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner.

In arguably the biggest surprise of the NFL season, the Indianapolis Colts are sending two first-round picks to the Jets for Gardner, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The star cornerback just signed a four-year contract extension in the offseason, but with New York posting a 1-7 record this season, they couldn't say no to that kind of draft capital.

For the Colts, it's clear that they're all-in on this season, and one famous fan had a live reaction to the deal.

Pat McAfee Reacts to Trade

The Colts are having an excellent season and are currently sitting at 7-2. They've been wanting to add cornerback help, and now they've traded for one of the best young players at the position.

Former Colts punter turned media star Pat McAfee was able to share his reaction to the news on his ESPN show.

"Sauce, welcome to town, brother," McAfee said on "The Pat McAfee Show."

This is a big swing for the Colts to take. Gardner was an All-Pro his first two seasons, but didn't even make the Pro Bowl last year. That said, he's only 25 and has a chance to be even more productive for a good team.

The Colts must think they have a chance to go on a deep playoff run this year for them to make such a big trade and give up valuable first-round picks.
