Pat McAfee Reportedly 'Banned' ESPN Star From His Show

Pat McAfee has made plenty of headlines since taking his self-titled show to ESPN in September 2023. That being said, the former NFL punter is once again in the spotlight.

Since its inception in 2019, "The Pat McAfee Show" has had plenty of marquee guests on. Once McAfee moved his program to ESPN, he made the network's on-air talent regulars on his show. Believe it or not, one particular employee was banned earlier this year.

According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, ESPN insider Adam Schefter was "essentially banned" from McAfee's show because he failed to make an appearance during the NFL’s free agency frenzy.

Marchand noted that Schefter was busy providing updates on ESPN's free agency special. However, that didn't stop "The Pat McAfee Show" from penalizing the prominent NFL insider.

What's interesting about this ban is that Schefter usually has "The Pat McAfee Show" producer Ty Schmit on his podcast. He hasn't let his apparent feud with McAfee impact their working relationship.

Despite all the drama surrounding "The Pat McAfee Show," ESPN has no problems with McAfee and his team.

"Pat and his show are thriving on ESPN," the network's president of content Burke Magnus said. "We are very pleased with the partnership."

While we're not sure if it's a coincidence or not, Schefter is expected to be on "The Pat McAfee Show" this Thursday.

If we had to guess, McAfee and Schefter will address this report from The Athletic during Thursday's show.
