The NFL world has waited to see where Aaron Rodgers will sign for weeks, and a new announcement from a longtime friend suggests that the wait could potentially end on Thursday.

Pat McAfee announced that Rodgers would be a featured guest on Thursday's episode of his show. Rodgers is set to join McAfee during the 1 PM ET hour, and many believe he'll take the opportunity to reveal where he will play next season.

Rodgers has used The Pat McAfee Show to break news in the past, like when he announced his intention to play for the Jets two years ago. Last season, he revealed that Davante Adams was at the New York Jets facility on the show, shortly after Adams was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Rodgers hasn't confirmed whether he will sign with a certain team or retire, but he has given criteria to suggest that he will play if his preferences are met. Earlier this offseason, Rodgers said that he wanted to play for a team where he felt wanted, and that he wanted to play for a team with talented players.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the clubhouse leaders for Rodgers' next team, and they seem to fit the criteria he's looking for. The team needs a quarterback after losing both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in free agency, and reports suggest that a contract offer has been in place for several days.

The Steelers also made a major move this offseason by trading for DK Metcalf, adding a Pro Bowl wide receiver to join an emerging talent in George Pickens. Pittsburgh was able to make the playoffs last season, and they'll want to build on that postseason appearance in 2024 with many of the same key pieces returning.

Rodgers could be the final piece to the puzzle for the Steelers, and the clock is ticking for the four-time MVP to make a decision about his future before the start of the NFL Draft.

As Rodgers gets set to appear on McAfee's show Thursday, we'll see if he plans to use the opportunity to let the football world know where he will head in 2025.
