Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to reestablish themselves as the league's top team after a disastrous 2025 NFL season. Before last season, Mahomes had made at least the AFC Championship Game every year since being named the starting quarterback in 2018.
Not only did Kansas City snap that streak last year, but it also failed to make the playoffs entirely, finishing third in the AFC West at 6-11. To make matters worse, Mahomes tore his ACL in a 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15. The Whitehouse High School graduate is expected to be available by Week 1 of the 2026 season.
Also available is the annual "Year-End Top 50 Player Sales List," which was released Tuesday. The NFL collects sales data from NFLPA licensees and determines which players drive the most merchandise sales. The list is the only verified ranking of officially licensed NFL player merchandise. It captures consumer purchases from March 2025 through February 2026.
Mahomes came in at No. 6 on the list, marking his eighth straight year of being included in the Top 10 Player Sales List. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished No. 1 in the ranking, with New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye at No. 2. The top 10 player merchandise sales leaders are as follows:
