Patrick Mahomes entered the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks on a hot streak. In five games, he had tallied 1,309 passing yards and nine touchdowns against just three interceptions.

Mahomes had also rushed for 57 yards and one touchdown, helping lead the Chiefs to a 5-0 record.

With that said, the Chiefs and the rest of the Kansas City faithful were naturally hyped to see Mahomes return to action in Seattle.

In fact, the Chiefs themselves fueled the excitement ahead of the showdown by giving Mahomes a new nickname that seemed fitting for the occasion.

“Primetime Patrick has arrived,” the Chiefs wrote ahead of their primetime showdown with the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Mahomes is known for many nicknames, such as “Showtime,” “The Magician,” “The Gunslinger,” “Mahomeboy” and “Air Mahomes,” among many others. There’s no denying, however, that “Primetime Patrick” has a nice ring to it, thanks to the alliteration.

Unfortunately, Mahomes wasn’t able to live up to that nickname against the Seahawks. The Chiefs suffered their first loss of the season, falling 20-3.

Mahomes threw for only 165 yards and was intercepted once, while failing to score a touchdown. He also rushed twice for 14 yards. The Chiefs star was outclassed by Seahawks QB Sam Darnold, who finished with 257 passing yards and one touchdown.

The Chiefs will return to action on Nov. 1 against their AFC West rivals, the Denver Broncos. Hopes are high that Mahomes will once again show fans why the Chiefs dubbed him “Primetime Patrick.”
