In just one week Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will square off against Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

Mahomes is in search of his fourth Super Bowl title as the Chiefs look to make NFL history as the only team to win three straight Super Bowls. With five Super Bowl appearances in the last six seasons, the former Texas Tech star quarterback is on pace to become the greatest of all time.

Earlier this postseason he passed Joe Montana with the second most playoff wins all time with 17 - sitting well behind Brady with 35.

While Mahomes is known for his prowess on the football field, he also found success in the classroom during his days with the Red Raiders. Mahomes racked up a 3.91 GPA during his college years at Texas Tech University, according to a report from Tyler Today.

"He started getting college credits at Tyler Junior College when he was still in high school," Mahomes' mother, Randi, said. "... I admit I am a proud mom. I am very proud of his athletic achievements. However, I am more proud of his scholastic achievements."

During his final collegiate season, the Red Raiders star earned 2016 Big 12 Football Scholar Athlete of the Year honors with a 3.64 GPA.

Mahomes' homework this week will be dedicated to finding the weaknesses in the Eagles secondary as he chases another Super Bowl. Just two years ago he and the Chiefs escaped with their second Lombardi Trophy in a 38-35 win over the Eagles.
