Patrick Mahomes’ Offseason Interaction With NFL Quarterback Catches Attention

On Saturday, the New Orleans Saints’ official X account reshared a photo originally posted by rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler, standing alongside two-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes on a Las Vegas fairway.

The Saints captioned the repost simply, “Rattler Mahomes,” acknowledging the moment without fanfare.

The photo was taken at the “Vegas Golf Classic”, hosted May 14-16, 2025, by Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.

The annual event raises funds for youth-focused health, wellness and educational initiatives; the Foundation, founded by Mahomes in 2019, channels proceeds toward under-resourced communities and literacy programs.

Rattler’s original Instagram caption read, “Appreciate you having us out my guy! Great weekend at the @15andmahomies charity golf event! ⛳️ @patrickmahomes”.

Fans online were quick to react to Rattler sharing the green with one of the game’s elite.

One user said, "Much Respect to the both of you. Great Picture #Saints #ChiefsKingdom," to which another responded, "Long lost cousin lol".

Another commenter said, "Which is which?" which was met with the response, "Been saying this since they were in college".

One other fan replied, "I'm good with him going to the Chiefs," while another user said, "QB2."

The Saints finished 5-12 in the 2024 season, the New Orleans' worst record since 2005 and good for last place in the NFC South.

Rattler, a fifth-round pick in April’s draft, saw relief duty in seven games as a rookie for the Saints, throwing for 1,317 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions, and setting the franchise mark for rookie passing yards.

Now entering year two under new head coach Kellen Moore, Rattler will compete in a crowded quarterback room featuring Jake Haener and rookie Tyler Shough.
