Scheffler’s victory was the latest highlight in what’s been a ridiculous season for the world’s No. 1 golfer. He started the final round at Caves Valley four shots back of Robert MacIntyre, but that didn’t last long. Scheffler's steady charge and a clutch back nine allowed him to surge past the field and MacIntyre. In the end, he walked away with a cool $3.6 million in prize money.

Mahomes didn’t hold back after watching Scheffler pull off another ridiculous win.

Scheffler's streak is rather Mahomes-esque, a golf dynasty in the making if such things exist. This year alone, He has already won the PGA Championship and the he this year. He boasts 12 wins on the Tour in the last two years alone. Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods are the only other golfers to win The Open Championship, the PGA Championship, and The Masters before the age of 30.

It's no wonder that Mahomes has so much respect for Sheffler. The Chiefs’ quarterback has a trophy case anchored by three Super Bowl MVP trophies and a 17-4 record in the postseason. Few athletes know what it requires to compete at such heights for so long, but Mahomes continues to mow down NFL records year after year. Interestingly, both are only 29 years old.

Scheffler is scheduled to compete in the Tour Championship from August 21-24. Mahomes will be taking the field soon thereafter on September 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers to start his own run toward another title. Perhaps the pair will continue to set new marks as they reach their thirties and aim for further greatness.
