Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has had a busy offseason since we last saw him on the field in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Over the past two weeks, he was officially inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame—a moment he celebrated alongside his wife Brittany and the rest of his family. Just this past weekend, he hosted an event for his foundation, which included plenty of golf and community engagement.
Despite the packed schedule, Mahomes has stayed tuned in to the sports world. On Sunday, he reacted quickly to major news out of his alma mater, Texas Tech.
The Red Raiders women’s softball team clinched a spot in the Super Regionals after a dominant performance and a thrilling 9–6 victory over Mississippi State.
Mahomes celebrated the milestone with a clear two-word message as he retweeted Texas Tech’s post on social media.
"Let’s go!!!!" Mahomes reacted.

Mahomes attended Texas Tech University from 2014 to 2016, serving as the Red Raiders’ starting quarterback for three seasons before declaring for the NFL draft, where he was selected 10th overall. Since then, he has remained closely connected to Texas Tech athletics and proudly true to his Texas roots.
On Sunday, the Texas Tech softball team made history.
The Red Raiders recorded 14 hits in a thrilling 9–6 win over Mississippi State, securing the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA Super Regionals—a monumental accomplishment.
They were led by standout pitcher Nijaree Canady, who carried a heavy load in the circle. She threw an incredible 111 pitches over five innings, allowing just three earned runs on eight hits while striking out four. With Canady needing support at the plate, the offense came through in a big way.
Texas Tech jumped out to a 4–0 lead early. After a strong push from Mississippi State, the Red Raiders held an 8–6 cushion before adding an insurance run to close out the win. Hailey Toney was the clear player of the game, launching two home runs in the victory.
