Patrick Mahomes is known for being the outstanding quarterback of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs, but he was once an outstanding college star at Texas Tech University.
On Saturday, the Elite 8 round of the men's NCAA Tournament took place, and Texas Tech took on the University of Florida for the right to advance to the Final Four. But despite holding a late lead, it fell in the final few minutes and lost to the favored Gators, 84-79.
Mahomes went to his X account and made it clear that overall, his Red Raiders did well this season.
"Great season!!!" Mahomes posted.

Florida is a team that plenty of people have been picking to win the national championship this year. Yet Texas Tech, led by NBA draft prospects JT Toppin and Darrion Williams, played the Gators tough throughout and held a 75-66 lead with three minutes left.
Toppin scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but the Red Raiders fell apart in the final three minutes. They allowed Walter Claxton Jr. to hit a pair of clutch 3-pointers, and as a result, they will be watching the Final Four at home.
While at Texas Tech, Mahomes led the nation with 5,052 passing yards and 53 total touchdowns. He won the Sammy Baugh Trophy and was the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Chiefs.
