Patrick Mahomes' Trainer Takes Shot At Legendary NFL Quarterback

Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made quite a few headlines with his recent Patrick Mahomes take.

Speaking on the latest episode of his "Footbahlin" podcast, the two-time Super Bowl champ argued that he'd take Aaron Rodgers in his prime over Mahomes present day.

"Well, I would take Aaron in his prime over Patrick now," Roethlisberger admitted. "I think Aaron Rodgers in his prime was one of the top few to ever do it— and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime. Patrick Mahomes is just entering out of his prime, I think."

That led to a call out from the Chiefs QB's trainer Bobby Stroupe who said on X: "Not everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben."

The post was clearly a dig at the six-time Pro Bowler's physique towards the end of his 18-year career after beginning his career as a fairly mobile signal-caller at 6-foot-5 and close to 240 pounds.

That didn't stop him from putting up prolific passing numbers for the majority of his career though, despite taking a ton of punishment from all of the hits he took standing tall in the pocket.

Big Ben wasn't the only person Stroupe had in his crosshairs either. The health and performance consultant also took time to defend Mahomes against several more of the superstar's critics on social media.

Saying in one instance: "Show me pictures of Aaron Rodgers with his shirt off in his prime. And elway and Peyton. Brady has a different body type and game. He didn't play the game the same way. Patrick takes contact and gives contact."

"I worked with hurts. I know what he looks like ... Show me games missed due to injury for all these guys vs Patrick."
