Patrick Mahomes wants Chiefs to keep proving doubters wrong

It's obviously a good thing that the Kansas City Chiefs are 2-0 to start their season, especially coming off a season where they didn't even make it to the playoffs. But quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't satisfied.

Speaking with the media on Wednesday, Mahomes talked about how the team had a rough time getting past the Indianapolis Colts in an overtime win during "Sunday Night Football" and also said that the praise they got for winning can't go to their heads.

"All offseason, we heard about how bad we were," Mahomes said, according to Charles Goldman of A to Z Sports. "How can you keep that hunger now that everyone is praising you, telling you you're great?"

Patrick Mahomes doesn't want Chiefs getting comfortable

The Denver Broncos and Colts are considered solid teams, and that makes those victories even better. But that doesn't mean this team can play it easy against weaker teams up ahead.

The Chiefs have two games coming up against the Miami Dolphins, who are 0-2, and the Las Vegas Raiders, who are 2-0. While Miami is struggling this season, the Raiders are having a surprisingly good season, and that could cause some trouble for the Chiefs.

"We're nowhere near where we want to be," Mahomes added. "You have to go out every week and have that mentality if you want to have success."

So, you have to stay hungry, and that's what Mahomes is telling his teammates. There's no time for the Chiefs to celebrate just yet.
