Patriots' Drake Maye Admits He Recruited Players During Pro Bowl

Despite a lackluster performance in the Pro Bowl flag football game, New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye's participation couldn't have come at a better time.

Maye had a chance to recruit top NFL talent to Foxborough, which he admitted during the "Up & Adams" podcast on Tuesday. The Patriots have a new, proven head coach in Mike Vrabel and an NFL-best $124 million in cap space.

“I definitely think a little bit,” Maye told host Kay Adams. “I’ve definitely been getting to know some of the guys, telling them a little bit about Boston, let them know about Foxboro, about Gillette Stadium a little bit.

"I told them about the fan base... I let ’em know that the Pats got some things to make some moves this offseason," he added.

A recent No. 2 draft pick out of North Carolina, Maye impressed at times as a rookie amid a 66.6% completion rate, 2,276 yards passing, and 15 touchdowns

Maye didn't have a lot of higher-level NFL talent around him, but that could change in 2025, and he made his case with recruiting pitches among top NFL players.

Among wide receivers' names who came up, Maye showed that he shot for the moon amid his mentions of Ja'Marr Chase and Nico Collins.

Neither are free agents in 2025, but making pitches to such stars could pay dividends down the road for Maye and the Patriots.
