New England now has two former Tigers vying for left tackle. The Patriots selected Marcus Bryant, who spent his senior year at Mizzou, in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Durant is also the second former Tiger in the last week to sign with an NFL team with Harrison Mevis joining the New York Jets after a successful season with the Birmingham Stallions.
Durant played for Missouri from 2017-19 and appeared in 34 games, including 33 starts. He joined the Tigers from the juco ranks after competing at Arizona Western College.
Durant was a surprise snub in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent and made their 53-man roster for the 2020 season. He made 11 appearances for the Chiefs, mostly on special teams units.
Kansas City traded him to the Patriots for a seventh-round pick before the 2021 campaign, where he played in seven games before being waived in 2022.
Durant made pit stops at the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints since then but only played two NFL snaps between each team.
Durant made 10 starts for the Defenders after signing in 2024, and he played at every position along the offensive line except center. D.C. topped the Michigan Panthers 58-34 in the UFL Championship on June 14 in St. Louis.
It's been quite the path for the former Tiger, but Durant has found his way back to the biggest stage.
