Recently, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has found himself at the center of controversy after photos were leaked showing him getting cozy with NFL reporter Dianna Russini at an adults hotel in Arizona. While both parties have denied that anything inappropriate took place, Russini has since resigned from her position as a reporter at The Athletic, and a slew of internet discourse has been generated as a result.

Now, Vrabel has spoken out about the scandal for the first time since his initial statement after the pictures were released.

“I’ve had some difficult conversations with people I care about about — with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive. In order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me. That starts with me,” said Vrabel, per Doug Kyed of The Boston Herald on X, formerly Twitter.

“What I can promise you is that my family, this organization, the team staff,  coaches, everybody, and fans most importantly, will get the best version of me going forward,” he added, per Mark Daniels of MassLive.

Notably, Vrabel never confirmed or denied the allegations of an affair between himself and Russini, which will likely only add fuel to the speculation.

He also thanked the media for their patience in waiting for him to address the matter, which had become a legitimate NFL scandal over the last few weeks.

In any case, Vrabel will now try to turn his attention to the NFL Draft, which will get underway on Thursday.
