Patriots' Milton Williams is excited to try to win second straight Super Bowl ring

The New England Patriots are one win away from reclaiming the mantle of Super Bowl champions, with their last win coming in 2018.

Outside of second-year quarterback Drake Maye and head coach Mike Vrabel, defensive tackle Milton Williams, the Patriots' big offseason signing (four years, $104 million), also contributed to their success. Williams is playing in his third Super Bowl since 2022, and is looking to win his second straight ring after winning it all with the Philadelphia Eagles last season.

"It's great, man. I just say I'm blessed to be in this situation," Williams said Monday at Super Bowl LX Opening Night, via NFL.com. "This is my third Super Bowl in five years. It's crazy. You know, people always talk about guys not going their entire career, playing 10-12 years and not going. It's just great, man."

Milton performed well in his first season with the Patriots, tallying 3.5 sacks, 15 solo tackles and 9.5 stuffs

Milton Williams brings valuable Super Bowl experience to an inexperienced Patriots locker room

Even though the Patriots are a young team on the rise, they only have four players on their roster, including Williams (12 career games), who have played in the playoffs.

"Earlier in the year, (Patriots coach Mike Vrabel) asked our team to raise our hand if you were playing football at this time last year, I was the only guy to raise my hand, so it was kind of weird," Williams said. "But I'm just happy for all the guys to be able to raise their hand. To be like all right, ask that question next year. We was there in that same situation, in the Super Bowl."

Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs (17 games), cornerback Carlton Davis III (12) and tight end Austin Hooper (10) are the other three players with prior playoff experience.

Milton Williams and Patriots defense could be what helps them win Super Bowl

With Vrabel’s defensive mind, the Patriots were the eighth-best defense in the NFL (295.2 yards), but had trouble getting after the quarterback (35.0 sacks). Even though the Patriots weren't great at getting after the quarterback, they did well at stopping the run game (sixth best, 101.7 yards).

Williams' presence in front of Seahawks QB Sam Darnold could play a factor in the game, as outside of cornerback Christian Gonzalez, Williams will be a focus of the offensive line. Darnold has performed well for the Seahawks in pressure situations. However, facing one of the toughest and most talented defenses in the Patriots, it could reawaken those demons he has tried to shake off.
