Patriots Release Kendrick Bourne

With the NFL season rapidly approaching, the New England Patriots have been very busy trying to get their roster down to 53 players. The Patriots chose to release wide receiver Kendrick Bourne after he requested his release.

Over the past few seasons the Patriots have seen many different receivers come and go in an attempt to rebuild their receiving core that hasn’t really been the same after Julian Edelman’s retirement a few years back.

Kendrick Bourne was one of the longest tenured receivers for New England as he joined the team back in 2021. He played in 53 games for the Patriots and started 21 of those. Over that span Bourne had 155 receptions for 1945 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Bourne will best be remembered by his 2021 campaign with New England, setting a career high in receptions and yards. He had 55 catches and 800 yards on the year and tied his career high in touchdowns with five.
