New England Patriots' tight end Hunter Henry will be entering his 10th year in the NFL in 2025, and his fifth with the Patriots. The veteran tight end has been the definition of consistent throughout his career.

Henry, who was drafted by the then-San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, has played at least 12 games in eight of his nine years in the league.

The veteran tight end has averaged 56 catches for 646 yards and six touchdowns during his nine NFL seasons. However, in 2024, he set career highs with 97 targets, 66 receptions, and 674 yards.

Now, he heads into 2025 with quarterback Drake Maye in his second year of development and an already established rapport with the young quarterback.

The one difference: The Patriots have an almost entirely new coaching staff. So what will Henry's role look like on New England's new-look offense?

Henry's specific role is still unclear as it's very early in the offseason, but the Patriots' tight end will remain a focal point in the offense.

Henry spent his first season in New England while offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was still in his previous stint with the team. Henry had one of the best years of his career, catching 50 passes for 603 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns.

"It's a lot of similar things, and it's kind of like getting back into it, hearing the verbiage again," Henry told Carlos A. Lopez. "Kind of getting a feeling for things a little bit and seeing things. Working through it with Drake (Maye). Obviously it's different in how he sees things. We've added a few new flavors to the offense a little bit, so it's been good."

McDaniels will have the veteran Henry alongside the Patriots' big free agent signing Stefon Diggs, with his slot receiver DeMario Douglas, along with a list of other young, talented options to work with.

New England's offense is still developing with Maye in his sophomore season, but don't be surprised if Henry builds on his impressive 2024 season in 2025.
