PFF’s preseason grades paint disgusting Cam Ward picture

While the Tennessee Titans are 2-0 in the preseason so far, things just haven’t quite clicked for Cam Ward. The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft appears to be struggling, as his current PFF grade suggests he is playing as the worst quarterback in the preseason.

PFF shared the top three and bottom three offensive grades through two preseason games. Ward came in dead last amongst quarterbacks with a 29.1 grade. He is below Bretty Rypien (29.3) and Cam Miller (32.1). The PFF grades are determined for quarterbacks who have had at least 10 dropbacks.

Through two preseason games, the 24-year-old quarterback has thrown for 126 yards and zero touchdowns while completing just 54.2% of his pass attempts. However, he has been sacked only once and has not yet thrown an interception in any preseason matchups. Ward also owns a 69.1 QB rating.

On paper, it doesn’t great, and it paints a rather ugly picture for the Titans’ offense. But stats don’t tell the whole story. The film suggests many of the incomplete throws appear to be miscommunication errors rather than poor accuracy on Ward’s part. That’s at least what one football content creator claimed, as Louis of Fanalyze broke down what he saw in Ward’s performance against the Seattle Seahawks.
