Philadelphia Eagles Still Open For Business At One Position
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles are fresh off of what was a major haul in the 2024 NFL Draft. Howie Roseman and company were widely viewed as one of the biggest winners of the entire event. Now, they could still be looking to make more additions to their roster as they look to right the ship from last year’s disappointing finish to the season.

Last year, the Eagles appeared to once again be a legitimate Super Bowl contender through the majority of the season. Unfortunately, late in the year, they suffered a major collapse.

When everything was said and done, the Eagles were ousted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the NFC playoffs.

Even though the Eagles have made quite a few additions to their roster this offseason and were able to re-sign both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith to big contract extensions, Philadelphia may be looking for more help at the wide receiver position.

NBC Sports reporter Reuben Frank recently stated that there is a “fair chance” that the Eagles will sign another wide receiver in the near future. He thinks the Eagles want to make sure that Jalen Hurts has a legitimate No. 3 wideout this season.

“There are some interesting options, and I’d expect (DeVante Parker) to get the first crack at it, but I also think there’s a fair chance that the guy who ultimately ends up as the Eagles’ third receiver is someone who isn’t on the roster yet.”

Looking At The Philadelphia Eagles’ Offense For 2024

Honestly, just taking a quick look at the Eagles’ offense that is already in place for the 2024 NFL season is impressive. Obviously, a lot of their potential success will have to do with the performance of star quarterback Jalen Hurts. He took a step back in 2023 after a monstrous 2022 campaign.

Hurts still played well, but he was far from being the superstar that he was the year before.

That being said, the Eagles have put a lot of talent around him. Even though they lost Jason Kelce to retirement this offseason, Philadelphia will still have a quality offensive line. They will have weapons like Brown, Smith, Saquon Barkley, and Dallas Goedert for him to work with as well.

Going out and adding more firepower as the third wide receiver on the depth chart would be wise. If the opportunity presents itself, it’s always a good idea to add more talent.

It will be interesting to see what the Philadelphia Eagles are able to do during the upcoming 2024 NFL season. Can they get back to being a serious Super Bowl threat in the NFC? Only time will tell, but it’s clear that the front office is doing everything in its power to get them back to contention.
