Philadelphia Eagles way too early 53-man roster projection following 2025 NFL Draft
Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn Images

The Philadelphia Eagles closed out their 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday night, assembling a rookie class of 10 that’s bursting with star potential.

The big question now is: how many of these new additions will make the Eagles' initial 53-man roster? It’s far too early to know for certain, though guessing is all part of the fun.

Note: Players with a single asterisk (*) are 2025 draft picks and players with double asterisks (**) are 2025 undrafted free agents.

Quarterback (3)

Starter: Jalen Hurts
Backups: Tanner McKee, Kyle McCord*

The skinny: The Eagles, who already have a solid QB room, went and drafted Kyle McCord in the sixth round. Regardless of what fans thought of the pick, he is a stud and can beat out McKee for the QB2 job this summer.

Running back (4)

Starters: Saquon Barkley
Backups: Will Shipley, A.J. Dillon, Tyrion-Davis Price

The skinny: The Eagles will rely heavily on Saquon Barkley, though  Will Shipley should see more carries in Year 2.

Wide receiver (6)

Starters: A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson
Backups: Ainias Smith, Johnny Wilson, Danny Gray

The skinny: The Eagles didn't draft another weapon for Hurts this year, but that just means they're confident in the wide receiver room that they do have.

Tight end (3)

Starter: Dallas Goedert
Backups: Grant Calacaterra, Harrison Bryant

The skinny: Rumors spread ahead of the draft that Dallas Goedert was on the trading block, but since the Eagles didn't draft another tight end, it looks like he's sticking around.

Offensive line (10 )

Starts: Jordan Mailata (LT), Landon Dickerson (LG), Cam Jurgens(C),  Tyler Steen (RG), Lane Johnson (RT),
Backups: Trevor Keegan, Kenyon Green, Drew Kendall*, Myles Hinton*, Kendall Lamm

The skinny: The Eagles added two versatile offensive linemen in the draft, Drew Kendall and Myles Hinton. While they won't be ready to start right away, "Stoutland U" will have them ready for the future of the Eagles' o-line.

Defensive line (9)

Starters: Nolan Smith (DE), Jalen Carter (DT), Moro Ojomo (DT), Jalyx Hunt (DE)

Backups: Bryce Huff, Ty Robinson, Azeez Ojulari, Thomas Booker, Byron Young

The skinny: Pending how well things go for rookie Ty Robinson this summer, we could see him take Moro Ojomo's starting job.

Linebacker (5)

Starters: Zack Baun (LILB), Nakobe Dean (RILB),

Backups: Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Jihaad Campbell*, Smael Mondon Jr.

The skinny: Nakobe Dean is likely headed to the PUP list, so Eagles' first-round pick Jihaad Campbell better be ready to go.

Cornerback (6)

Starters: Quinyon Mitchell, Kelee Ringo, Cooper DeJean
Backups: Eli Ricks, Adoree Jackson, Mac McWilliams*

The skinny: The Eagles added another versatile cornerback in Mac McWilliams in the draft, who can play at nickel or on the outside.

Safety (4)

Starters: Reed Blankenship, Andrew Mukuba*,
Backups: Sydney Brown, Tristin McCollum
The skinny: It will be interesting to see how Sydney Brown looks for his first healthy summer back since his rookie year, but if he doesn't live up to veteran expectations, then the Eagles can turn to rookie Andrew Mukuba.

Specialists (3)

Starters: Jake Elliott (K), Braden Mann (P), Charley Hughlett (LS)

The skinny: The Rick Lovato era is over. Welcome to the gang, Charley Huglett.
