Philadelphia Eagles winning the Super Bowl gave the Buffalo Bills exactly the recipe for what it takes to beat the Kansas City Chiefs

The goal for the Buffalo Bills is to win the division first and foremost. It has to start there. The second goal after that is to be a team that can beat the best teams in the NFL. Until proven otherwise, the Chiefs will remain the mountain that they have to overcome in order to get to the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl LIX made it abundantly clear what it takes to beat the Chiefs — absolutely dominant players on the defensive line that are capable of winning 1-on-1 matchups and wreaking havoc. The Eagles have been doing it all year, but they saved their best for last, overwhelming Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

It's been abundantly clear since the AFC Championship Game that the Bills need game-wreckers on the defensive line. Ed Oliver showed up, but outside of him, the line struggled mightily to generate any sort of pressure against Mahomes.

It couldn't have gone more differently than it did for the Eagles. Simply rushing four, they completely dominated the game. They took over. They were pushing back into Mahomes' lap early and often, generating 16 pressures on 42 dropbacks (38%), sacking Mahomes six times, one of which was a strip sack, and forcing him into two interceptions — without blitzing a single time . Nolan Smith, Milton Williams, Jalen Carter, and Josh Sweat feasted, with Brandon Graham getting some run in his return from injury as well.

It paints a stark picture. Yes, Josh Allen was the league MVP, but having game wreckers on the defensive line is a critical recipe for teams that are contending to win Super Bowls. The Bills simply don't have any players that are anywhere near the caliber of what the Eagles put out there. Order of business number one for Brandon Beane this offseason has to be figuring out how to overhaul the defensive line, whether through trade ( I'm looking at you, Myles Garrett), free agency, the draft, or a combination of the three. The Bills need some dudes.
