The Pittsburgh Steelers have received an encouraging update on Rico Dowdle. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Dowdle would increase his work while remaining in the rehab group.

In Dowdle’s absence, it has been Jaylen Warren who has stepped up and produced 220 yards over the last two games. With getting Dowdle back, they would be able to split the workload between both running backs and be more flexible with the personnel they have on the field.
If Dowdle has to miss another game, they still have Warren to rely on, but either way, the recent production from Warren gives the Steelers a great developmental point for their ground game to build on once Dowdle is back.
