All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs turned in his best performance in a New England Patriots uniform on Sunday night. The four-time Pro Bowler registered 10 catches for a season-high 146 yards, helping the Patriots secure a hard-fought 23-20 win against Josh Allen and Diggs’ former team, the Buffalo Bills, in a Week 5 clash.

Diggs, who was named a Pro Bowler for four straight years during his four seasons in Buffalo, parted ways with the Bills in 2024 via a blockbuster trade to the Houston Texans. The former Maryland Terrapins star then entered free agency during the recent offseason and ultimately signed with the Patriots on a three-year deal worth $63.5 million.

New England got to see some return on its massive investment on Sunday as Diggs, who was back at Highmark Stadium for the first time since his departure from Buffalo, helped lead his new team to its second straight win and its third of the NFL season. In the process, the Patriots also handed the Bills their first loss of the campaign.

After the game, Diggs shared an on-field moment with some of his former Buffalo teammates, including star quarterback Josh Allen. It is unclear what was said between the pair, but the postgame exchange quickly drew attention on social media.

Fans on X shared their reaction to the show of respect between the two former teammates.

“I think they miss each other,” a comment on X read.

“ugh I miss diggs in buffalo” another said.

“I miss this combo ” a user posted.

Not everyone had kind words for the former Buffalo star, though.

“Lost all respect for him when he forced himself out of Buffalo,” declared a supporter.

“If roles reversed I doubt diggs says anything to him,” claimed another.

“Josh a better person than me that’s all I’ll say lol,” a reaction read.

There are clearly still bitter feelings from some Bills fans after Diggs’ drama-filled exit one year ago. The Buffalo faithful is not one to forget easily, and some of them are not yet ready to forgive Diggs for supposedly forcing his way out of the Bills in 2024.

Some supporters were feeling extra salty on Sunday night after Diggs reminded them of just what they’re missing now that he’s moved on to greener pastures.
