Wide receiver has not been given much attention as some other needs, but the Las Vegas Raiders are still performing their due diligence.
All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers is expected to lead the Raiders passing attack in his sophomore season, and that is fine. Jakobi Meyers is an excellent complementary receiver, and the team has high hopes for third-year receiver Tre Tucker. The options behind them are somewhat thin, however, so the Raiders would be wise to look for more options.
One possibility, however, might be off the table for the Raiders after potentially career-derailing news.
According to Ian Rapoport, former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond turned himself in to Frisco Police for an outstanding warrant for sexual assault. He subsequently posted bond and was released.

Shortly after the incident, Bond’s camp released a statement to social media, declaring the accusations false and hoping for the opportunity to explain his side of the story.
A statement from Isaiah Bond:
“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the… https://t.co/aGgFhuop9o

While the details of the incident have yet to be revealed, it is the last thing Bond needed in what has been a rough pre-draft process.
Bond made headlines at the Combine by boldly declaring he would beat fellow Longhorn Xavier Worthy’s 40-yard dash record, only to disappoint by finishing ninth with 4.39 seconds (for an added twist of the knife, teammate Matthew Golden lead all receivers with a time of 4.29 seconds.) Despite that fiasco, Bond was still projected comfortably as a Day Two selection. With the severity of these accusations, however, teams might avoid him if they do not want that black cloud hovering over their draft class.
There is always one prospect who tumbles down the draft boards late, and Bond appears to be fulfilling that archetype this year.
