Power of social media alerts Jason Kelce of luchador mask's rightful owner

Some fans enjoyed watching videos of power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dance the night away after the Kansas City Chiefs' victory in Super Bowl LVIII. Others were more entertained by footage of the partying Jason Kelce.

The Philadelphia Eagles center could be seen in scores of social media clips earlier this week, celebrating, while wearing a luchador mask.
It turns out that the attire belongs to a middle-schooler from Dallas, Texas.

Thanks to the power of social media, Kelce has been informed of the mask's rightful owner and plans to send it back to him.

During this week's episode of the Kelce brothers' "New Heights" podcast, Jason said that he found the mask on the floor at an after-party and picked it up.

"There's something about finding that luchador mask that really just transformed the night," the future Hall of Fame center said. "It really did. It was insane."

According to a report by NBC5DFW's Tylee Taylor, eighth-grader Elijah Smith is a big Chiefs fan.

"I gave him my mask and then he dropped it and then picked it back up. Then I got a picture with him wearing it and then I just hung out next to them for five to ten minutes, they were dancing and everything," Smith said, per the report.

Taylor's report added that Smith and his friend attempted to chase down the Eagles star but the party was too packed and loud.

"I saw videos on Instagram this week of him wearing it at the next after-party he went to, so he clearly never took it off the whole night," Smith said, according to the report.

"The only thing is, Jason if you're listening, we just need the mask back before the season starts. Because it's a lucky mask, and so the Chiefs need the luck. I'm sorry we're not Eagles fans," Elijah's father, Thad Smith added.

The family said that Elijah wore the mask at the Super Bowl after-party in 2023, after the Chiefs defeated the Eagles, and Kansas City cornerback Trent McDuffie signed it. Per the report, they added that the mask has now been to four Super Bowls.
