Head coach Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame program are on quite a roll on the recruiting trail recently. That continued on Friday when elite 2026 Towson (Md.) Loyola Blakefield cornerback Khary Adams opted for the Irish over the likes of Oregon and Penn State. A borderline five-star player, Adams is currently rated as the No. 36 overall player in the class according to 247Sports.
Even now that the 6-2, 175-pound cover man is officially on board, the recruiting momentum isn’t going to stop here. It is going to be a busy few weeks. Here is my predictions for the next five 2026 commitments for Notre Dame.
Most Notre Dame fans thought they were going to wake up and see a commitment today, but they probably thought it was just for O’Brien. With Adams going public on Friday, it has a chance to be an outstanding day if O’Brien chooses the Irish over Penn State, Oregon, and Clemson. The 6-4, 190-pound athelete has the talent to become a star at safety, cornerback, or wide receiver.
At 6-4 and 220 pounds, Fryzel is a very talented athlete as a move tight end. He is going to need to get stronger, but he has a lot of upside in the passing game. I expect Notre Dame to beat out Miami and Iowa for Fryzel on Monday.
The son of former NFL great Larry Fitzgerald, his son brings a big frame at 6-2 and 190 pounds, and massive catch radius. Since his official visit to South Bend last weekend, things have been trending quickly. Fitzgerald is the size that they need desperately in the wide receiver room for the 2026 class.
If Notre Dame does gain a commitment from O’Brien tonight, there will be one more spot in the secondary for the Irish. Reddish is an underrated performer on the back end but brings a lot of coverage upside. The 5-11, 185-pound safety come play from depth, as well as in the slot.
At 6-7 and 225 pounds, Jacobson has the frame to become an outstanding inline tight end. He has good straight line speed and a massive catch radius to work with. Combining Jacobson with Fryzel would create an intriguing duo to develop.
