Predictions On Tap Week 5: Bears at Packers
IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect

The Chicago Bears enter week five not only having overcome losing Caleb Williams but also playing really sound, complete football. They dominated the New York Jets , even if the box score did not show it. For two straight weeks, Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen have put on a coaching clinic. Both Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent managed the game perfectly; the run game has been dominant, and the defense has been surprisingly stout. It is a completely different test this week as they head to Lambeau for a noon CT kickoff on FOX.

The Bears will once again be without their star quarterback, and Tyson Bagent will get the nod. They will, however, be without Kyle Monangai . Johnson will have to pull out some extra tricks to get the edge over the Green Bay Packers. While they have had a disappointing season thus far, they will always bring their best to the rivalry. They may not act like it in the media, but the Packers have a lot on the line. The Bears may be favored, but this game could easily go either way.

Now, on to the predictions!!!

Michael Tsypin: Bears 27, Packers 17

While Monangai’s absence is a big loss, this is still the number-one rushing offense facing the fifth-worst rushing defense in rush yards per game. I expect Bagent to play better after getting a game under his belt, and the offense will keep rolling.

Nick Demao: Bears 89, Packers 0

I’ll keep it short: Bears win. Go Bears. RIP Ditka. FTP.

Samir Patel: Bears 28, Packers 10

The Packers may be playing at home, but I think the Bears are the better football team right now. Green Bay’s offensive line issues, struggles on third down, and overall inconsistency have shown up repeatedly through the first month of the season. I expect the crowd at Lambeau to bring plenty of energy early, but Chicago’s ability to sustain drives and dominate time of possession will eventually take control of the game. By the second half, I think the Bears wear Green Bay down, create a few short fields, and pull away for a convincing 28-10 victory.

Seth Conklin: Bears 17, Packers 34

Maybe the bit is continuing, or maybe the White Sox extinguished all the good vibes. The Bears have a definite path to victory here. However, I have seen this movie before. Until the Bears have a complete game against the Packers, I cannot feel confident in picking them. I hope I am wrong on this one. Nothing would make me happier than for the Bears to steamroll them for Ditka.

Ron Luce: Bears 750, Packers 0

Da Coach’s final wish is a dominating Bears victory. In the spirit of the Payton, the Sayers, and the Holy Ditka, the Bears will win by a million. I don’t care how scoring works. It’s a Bears win all the way.

Quinten Krzysko: Bears 27, Packers 10

This feels like a game where the Bears slowly suffocate the Packers. Green Bay has enough talent to hang around early, especially at home, but the Bears match up extremely well against an offensive line that continues to shuffle bodies and struggle with consistency. I expect Dennis Allen’s defense to create pressure, force mistakes, and keep the Packers from generating much offense. Chicago may habitually leave some points on the field with an aggressive fourth-down approach, but I still see the Bears controlling the game from start to finish and leaving Lambeau with a 27-10 win.

Coach Johnson has a 7-2 record against the Packers, 2-1 as the Head Coach of the Bears. This is the first time in ages that the Bears have had momentum in the rivalry. Will they have continued success? Will they be able to win one for Ditka? Tune in to the REAL game of the week to find out!
