Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is the latest player to opt out of the Pro Bowl.
He was selected for the NFL's annual All-Star Game but won't play in it this weekend. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson was named Jackson's replacement.
It comes after New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye was named as a replacement for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Wilson and Maye will join Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow as the AFC quarterbacks in the Pro Bowl.
Wilson spent the 2024 season with the Steelers, helping them make the playoffs before losing to the Baltimore Ravens. It was the Steelers' fifth-straight playoff loss, a streak that dates back to the 2017 AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.
Wilson missed the first six weeks of the 2024 season with a calf injury before taking over for Justin Fields and starting the rest of the season. He compiled 2,482 yards through the air with 16 touchdowns and only five interceptions.
The Steelers were 10-3 at one point during the season but lost five straight games to end the season, raising more questions about their direction. They're still undecided on whether they're bringing back him or Justin Fields since they were their two quarterbacks during the 2024 season.
Of the two, Fields makes more sense since he's younger and the Steelers would get a chance to see how he'd fare as a starter throughout the season, not just six games.
Fields finished the season with 1,106 yards through the air, five touchdowns, and only one interception. He added 62 carries for 289 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
Kickoff for this Sunday's Pro Bowl from Orlando, Florida will be at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN and ABC.
