The Chicago Bears will enter Week 4 looking to build on their Monday night victory, but they will have to do so without several key contributors. Chicago has already ruled out five players ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the New York Jets, while another player remains a projected inactive.

With injuries affecting both sides of the ball, the Bears will need their available players to fill important roles. Chicago could also turn to its practice squad for additional depth, particularly at cornerback, where the team is dealing with multiple absences.

Projected Bears Week 4 Game-Day Inactives

Five of the six projected inactives were ruled out on Friday, leaving Lewis as the only player who remains a game-day decision. Chicago will be particularly thin in the secondary with both Gordon and Lewis projected to miss the game.

Who Could Be Called Up From the Practice Squad?

Chicago will have two cornerbacks unavailable in Week 4. If the Bears elevate a player to the game-day roster, cornerback is the most logical position to target. That need becomes even more significant given the flexibility Chicago needs in its nickel and dime packages.

Two potential candidates for elevation are Nick McCloud and Deantre Prince.

McCloud, a six-year veteran, could be the most ideal option. He spent the 2025 season on Chicago’s active roster and returned to the Bears in September. His familiarity with the defense would allow him to step in without needing to learn an entirely new system, making him a logical depth option for Sunday.

The Bears also likely won’t carry an emergency third quarterback after choosing not to do so for Monday night’s game. However, Miller Moss remains on the practice squad and could be elevated if Chicago decides it needs an additional quarterback available on game day.
