A lot of eyes have been on Georgie Kittle and Travis Kelce's Tight End University as of late, but there's another university out there that just started last year. The Sack Summit.
All of the league's best edge rushers will head out to Las Vegas for a week's worth of training, working on technique, going over film and and some good old-fashioned fellowshiping.
The summit is hosted by Las Vegas Raiders edge Maxx Crosby, New Orleans Saints edge Cameron Jordan, and free agent edge Von Miller. They'll be joined by legends Chris Long, Shawne Merriman, Robert Mathis, and Brian Baldinger.
Big names that will be attending this year are Cincinnati Bengals edge Trey Hendrickson, Dallas Cowboys edge Micah Parsons, Vikings edge Jonathan Greenard, Texans edge Danielle Hunter, and Cleveland Browns edge Myles Garrett.
The Detroit Lions will have one player who accepted the invite to the summit, and that's Mitchell Agude.
Agude was an undrafted free agent for the Lions in 2023 and right away showed some real promise during training camp and in the preseason. In 2024, he improved upon that and wound up being signed to the 53-man roster in December. He played just 40 snaps during the season. His big game was in Week 17 against the Bears, where he forced a big fumble that helped the Lions extend the lead.
Agude has a chance to make the 53-man roster this year and get himself in the rotation, but he needs to have a strong summer. Learning from some of the best players in the leagues could certainly help him there.
