'Psychopath' Jalen Hurts fails to make impressive QB ranking in the worst way

While Week 1's 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys was not precisely the prettiest for the Philadelphia Eagles, quarterback Jalen Hurts certainly made a great impression on the fan base.

In the game, Hurts finished with a completion percentage of 82.6% for 152 yards, while adding a team-high 62 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win. He made some key plays down the stretch, including a four-yard run on third and three to give the Eagles a first down on the final drive of the game to seal the win.

Many of the typical experts criticized Hurts for only having 23 pass attempts and saw the same tendencies the offense had last year, but he did what he always manages to do: win. But how will he fare against the rest of the NFL quarterbacks after Week 1?

Hurts hit hard in QB rankings while having some interesting descriptions of him

FanSided's Christopher Kline released his rankings of the 32 quarterbacks in the NFL. Hurts finished at sixth while Kline had some colorful (and potentially complimentary) comments about Hurts in general.

"Look, there aren't very many quarterbacks who inspire more quiet confidence than Jalen Hurts. The dude is a psychopath, detached from all normal human emotion and the foibles they inspire. He's not going to let a Super Bowl victory disrupt his focus. The Eagles' offense is absolutely stacked, so it can be difficult to detach Hurts from his situation, but only a handful of truly elite quarterbacks are more adapatable and consistent week-to-week. Hurts can dominate as a runner. He can settle it and pick defenses apart from the pocket. Whatever the matchup demands, Hurts is typically capable of delivering productive results. Dallas is not exactly a challenging defensive equation to solve, but Hurts cruised through the first half on Thursday night and did what was necessary to hold on after the weather delay."

Hurts has always been the butt of jokes when it comes to how serious he is about the game. He's all about sharing inspirational quotes at press conferences, and while some might find it silly, he has shown on the field that he's all about winning no matter what.

With a 47-20 record as a starter in the regular season, Hurts couldn't give a care in the world what his stats are. As long as the Eagles pick up a win, that's all that matters.

It should be pointed out, though, that the Cowboys did a good job slowing down Saquon Barkley in the game as he finished with just 60 yards. Hurts was the one making multiple accurate throws throughout the contest. He doesn't put the ball in harm's way, and if he needs to use his legs, he's not afraid to take the open lanes and run for a score.

Hurts is the definition of a winner, so people are more than welcome to call him a "psychopath" all they want. That's exactly what he is when it comes down to bringing home a W to Philly.
