Puka Nacua Update Emerges Before Lions-Rams

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua has been one of the most outstanding offensive performers in the NFL this season, anchoring a potent passing attack alongside quarterback Matthew Stafford. Through 14 weeks, Nacua leads the league in receptions with 93 catches and ranks second in receiving yards with 1,186, adding seven touchdowns in 2025.

His connection with Stafford has been a major reason the Rams sit atop the NFC at 10–3 with just four games remaining, as they chase home-field advantage in the playoffs and strive to maintain offensive balance.

As Los Angeles prepares for another pivotal game, a tough test awaits in Week 15 at home against the Detroit Lions. The Rams could clinch a postseason berth and solidify their NFC contender status with a win.

Hours before kickoff, Nacua was once again in the spotlight, this time for his upcoming contract extension. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the third-year wideout is eligible for a new deal this offseason, and securing his services long-term is a “major priority” for Rams general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay.

Rapoport also noted that Nacua’s contract could approach or even surpass the top wide receiver market, potentially near or above the $40.2 million per year figure seen in elite wide receiver contracts like Ja’Marr Chase’s deal with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Drafted in the fifth round (177th overall) in 2023, Nacua has steadily improved each season, becoming one of the league’s most productive and reliable receivers. His trajectory positions him as a foundational piece of the Rams’ offense for the next decade.

The Week 15 matchup against the Lions kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday at SoFi Stadium and will be televised nationally on Fox.
