LAS VEGAS—The Las Vegas Raiders’ run of futility has come to an end.

On Sunday, the Raiders triumphed over the Jacksonville Jaguars 19-14 at Allegiant Stadium.

The victory is the first since Week 4 for the Raiders, ending a 10-game losing streak and pushing the team to 3-12. The Jaguars, who also go 3-12 with the loss, have now lost seven of their last eight games, including three of four since their bye.

Here are the three takeaways for the Raiders in the victory:

Second-quarter dominance

Down 7-0 after the first quarter, the Raiders needed to put something together to swing momentum in their favor.

The second quarter was a masterclass in coaching adjustments. Starting the second quarter in mid-drive, running back Alexander Mattison would punch in a touchdown from the goal line. It was the first of three scoring drives the Raiders would put together.

The defense would be even better, as the Jaguars could not move the ball. Their first two drives would end up going three and out, while the others would result in Raiders turnovers with safety Isaiah Pola-Mao forcing two fumbles.

Bowers reaches milestones

The record-setting season for Raiders tight end Brock Bowers continues.

Bowers put together an excellent game, torching the Jaguars defense with 11 catches for 99 yards.

With those numbers, Bowers cleared both the 100-reception and 1,000-yard milestones for the year.

He had already earned the record for most receptions among rookie tight ends, and is the third tight end with 1,000 yards in their rookie season (Kyle Pitts, Mike Ditka).

Thomas goes off

Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was highlighted as a key threat, and he showed exactly why.

He showcased his skillset perfectly in the third quarter, when he burned Raiders cornerback Jack Jones for a 62-yard touchdown pass.

Despite his team not grabbing the win, Thomas was a massive problem for the Raiders all game long. He would ultimately finish with nine catches for 131 yards and the touchdown.
