The Las Vegas Raiders received some negative news concerning Kolton Miller’s injury.
Miller got hurt in the Raiders’ 25-24 home loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 4 on Sunday. The Raiders initially thought Miller had suffered a sprained ankle, but it appears the injury is much worse.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that Miller has a hairline fracture in addition to a high-ankle sprain. The Raiders left tackle will be placed on injured reserve, which will take him out for a minimum of four games.
Sources: #Raiders OT Kolton Miller received bad news on his ankle following further testing. It’s a high-ankle sprain and a hairline fracture, rather than just a sprain.

The MRI revealed the sprain, a CT scan revealed the fracture. He’s headed for Injured Reserve. pic.twitter.com/g0zQEIvbIc
The Raiders already had a shaky offensive line prior to Miller’s injury, so this makes it worse. Charles Grant and Stone Forsythe are likely to replace Miller on the Raiders’ offensive line. Raiders head coach Pete Carroll said that Forsythe will be the “first choice” to step in for Miller, with Grant competing.

Miller had just signed a 3-year, $66 million contract extension prior to the season, so having him get hurt is a tough break.
The Raiders are 1-3 this season and have lost three games in a row since winning their opener against the Patriots in Week 1.
