Raiders Interview This Iconic Former NFL Head Coach
Michael Chow/The Republic / USA TODAY NETWORK

Earlier this week, the Las Vegas Raiders fired their head coach, Antonio Pierce. It was a move that seemed to be in the cards for a while, and it's not the only major move that was made.

Two days later, the Raiders fired their GM Tom Telesco as well . As Tom Brady starts to gain control of the football aspect of the franchise, it seems that the team will once again undergo a lot of change.

Part of that resides on their next big decision, the head coaching vacancy. There are several candidates that have already been announced, but we learned of one more on Thursday, thanks to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schefter reports that the Raiders have an interview set up with Pete Carroll. Carroll is one of the more iconic coaches in recent memory. He spent a lot of time at USC at the collegiate level, before heading to the Seattle Seahawks, where he spent quite a bit of time. Carroll led the Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances during his time there, and won one of them.

Throughout his 18 years as a head coach at the NFL level, Carroll has 170 wins, 120 losses and one tie.

Carroll and the Seahawks mutually parted ways after the 2023 season, and Carroll spent the 2024 season without a job. Now, it seems like he's interested to get back in the mix. With him having an interview, there's a legitimate possibility Carroll is on the Raiders sideline in 2024.

It's also worth mentioning that Carroll is 73 years old, so it's not likely that any prospective tenure with the Raiders would come close to the length of his time in Seattle.
