Once again, the 53-man roster of the Las Vegas Raiders has undergone significant change after Tuesday’s deadline.
Since then, the Raiders have made multiple moves to add pieces or swap around depth. The Raiders already claimed former Los Angeles Rams edge rusher Brennan Jackson, as well as signed former New York Giants offensive lineman Stone Forsythe to replace Thayer Munford.
Now, the Raiders have made another move to shake up a position group that needed one.
On Thursday, the Raiders announced that they had claimed safety Tristin McCollum off of waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles. In a corresponding roster move, the team waived safety Thomas Harper.

McCollum stands as a scheme fit for the Raiders, as his six-foot-three frame fits what head coach Pete Carroll looks for in his defensive backs.
In 2024, McCollum appeared in 14 games with the Eagles and started two, recording 33 tackles and two pass breakups. While he has struggled in pass coverage, McCollum is a better run defender. He now serves as extra safety depth behind Jeremy Chinn and Isaiah Pola-Mao.
McCollum gets a chance to prove where he can stick at the NFL level.
