Raiders Part Ways With Maxx Crosby in Bombshell Prediction

Maxx Crosby remains one of the most disruptive forces on the Las Vegas Raiders defensive line despite recent trade drama surrounding the standout pass-rusher. The 28-year-old defensive end was involved in a significant proposed move earlier this offseason, yet he continues to wear the silver and black.

This ongoing uncertainty has fueled plenty of speculation across the NFL landscape about where his future might ultimately lie.

The attempted transaction that would have sent Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round selections ultimately collapsed just days after initial agreement.

Since then, both the player and the Raiders organization have publicly emphasized their satisfaction with the current arrangement and a shared commitment to moving forward together. Their statements have aimed to project stability, even as external interest continues to swirl.

Nevertheless, the Raiders have fielded multiple trade inquiries for Crosby in recent weeks. Some league observers and analysts suggest the team could still entertain serious offers between now and the 2026 NFL draft. This persistent attention highlights the high value placed on Crosby’s proven ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks and impact games from the edge position.

ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell has identified the Philadelphia Eagles as a particularly strong potential destination should Las Vegas decide to move on from their star defender. He recently outlined a hypothetical blockbuster deal that would bring Crosby to Philadelphia while providing the Raiders with meaningful assets in return.

The framework centers on exchanging talent and future draft capital to benefit both franchises.

In Barnwell’s proposed scenario, the Eagles would acquire Crosby in exchange for edge-rusher Nolan Smith Jr., the 23rd overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, and a third-round selection in 2027. This package would give Las Vegas immediate help on defense along with high-value selections to bolster their roster under new leadership. The analyst believes this arrangement represents a balanced outcome for the Raiders after missing out on the earlier Ravens offer.

“The Raiders wouldn’t land two first-round picks or get as high a first-rounder as the one they were set to receive from Baltimore, but this would be a reasonable return,” Barnwell wrote. “Las Vegas could use the 23rd pick on a wide receiver who fits (Fernando) Mendoza’s timeline better, such as Omar Cooper Jr., who was the quarterback’s teammate at Indiana.”

The addition of Smith would help the Raiders replenish their pass-rush group following Crosby’s potential departure. Selected in the first round by Philadelphia, Smith has experienced fluctuating results early in his career.

After struggling to find his role as a rookie, he delivered 10.5 sacks across the regular season and playoffs in his second year before a triceps injury limited him to just three sacks in 11 games during the most recent campaign.

Crosby himself brings elite production that would immediately elevate any defensive front. Last season, despite appearing in only 10 games, he generated 53 pressures and 31 hurries while recording 10 sacks. His ability to consistently disrupt offenses has made him a coveted asset, particularly for teams seeking to strengthen their pass-rush rotation heading into the upcoming year.

For the Eagles, acquiring Crosby would provide a significant boost to an already talented defensive line. Philadelphia currently features several promising young pieces, including defensive end Jalyx Hunt, who posted 60 pressures, 36 hurries, and 6.5 sacks last season. Interior defenders such as Jalen Carter, Moro Ojomo, and Jordan Davis also contribute substantial disruption, making the unit one of the more formidable groups in the league.

Adding a proven veteran like Crosby alongside those emerging talents could create a devastating pass-rush attack capable of altering games on a weekly basis. As the offseason progresses, all eyes will remain on the Raiders and whether they choose to retain their standout defender or capitalize on the continued interest from contending teams like Philadelphia.

The situation underscores how quickly roster plans can shift in the NFL, even after public declarations of mutual commitment.
