Raiders quietly welcome second player to Las Vegas after Marcus Peters deal
Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

Marcus Peters [finally] joining the Silver and Black has caused a lot of celebration from Raider Nation – so much celebrating, that fans have let a second addition to the team go unnoticed. After the Peters agreement, which took place on Monday afternoon, the Las Vegas Raiders announced a follow-up signing: Isaac Rochell.

Rochell, a defensive lineman, was acquired by the Raiders during the latter-half of the ’22 season. The 28-year-old appeared in one contest for Las Vegas, totaling two defensive snaps in a Week 17 bout against San Francisco.

With 70 games played throughout his career, Rochell has logged 9.5 sacks, 11 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, three pass deflections and an interception. In 2020, with the Los Angeles Chargers, the new Raiders D-lineman was credited with a safety.

Jordan Willis, Malcolm Koonce and undrafted free agent Adam Plant are fighting with each other to earn pass-rushing snaps. Now, another name enters that battle.

Isaac Rochell hopes to have found a home with the Raiders

A seventh-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Isaac Rochell is still looking for a team to call home.

After spending the first four years of his career with the Chargers, Rochell has yet to stop bouncing around. One year in Indianapolis, a handful of months in Cleveland, then a few weeks in Las Vegas. Now, the Notre Dame alum has the chance to find continuity with a club after signing a second contract with the Raiders.

He does, however, still have to make the 53-man roster.

Rochell’s 49.7 overall defensive grade in 2022 via Pro Football Focus was the lowest of his career. With a 51.6 pass-rushing grade, he also earned the second-lowest grade of his career when chasing opposing quarterbacks. These are things that will have to improve if he wants to be a mainstay in Las Vegas.
