The Las Vegas Raiders took a bit of a gamble in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft when they selected Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. After the team let Josh Jacobs walk last offseason, the Raiders averaged an NFL-worst 79.8 rushing yards per game in 2024.
Jeanty's selection is supposed to mitigate this, as the former Heisman Trophy runner-up is expected to be the workhorse running back in Las Vegas right away. He'll be supplemented by Raheem Mostert and Sincere McCormick, but Jeanty will be the featured back.
On Wednesday, EA Sports revealed the rookie ratings for Madden NFL 26, and Jeanty earned a rating of 81.

While the video reveal with Jameis Winston indicates that Jeanty is an 81, a later post by Madden NFL 26 shows that Jeanty actually has a rating of 83. Regardless, he is the second-highest rated rookie behind the Jacksonville Jaguars' two-way star, Travis Hunter.
Despite being the No. 6 overall pick, Jeanty is rated higher than New York Giants edge rusher Abdul Carter, Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham, New England Patriots offensive tackle Will Campbell, and Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward.
All of these players were selected ahead of Jeanty in this year's draft, but the Raiders' talented running back is rated ahead of them in Madden NFL 26. This bodes well for Las Vegas, which needs the young player to produce big numbers in his first season.
Jeanty ran for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns during his final college campaign at Boise State. He won the Doak Walker and Maxwell Awards in 2024.
Las Vegas opens the 2025 NFL season on the road against the New England Patriots.
